About Us

Stacia Friedman, founder and editor, is a Philadelphia-based freelance writer. This site focuses on her passion for mid-century design and is dedicated to the architects and designers who dared to be modern.

Allie Hauptman, copy editor, is a Philadelphia-based editor/translator and chef. The daughter of an architect and knitwear designer, she was raised with an eye for design.

Ron Bernthal writes for Global Traveler Magazine, Newsday, Dallas Morning News, Toronto Star, Philadelphia Inquirer, and many others. The author of Off the Beaten Path Puerto Rico, he also hosts the award-winning Borders, a regularly-scheduled weekly travel segment on WJFF Radio.
